Keep running even though it rains

“Sel, yang jadi pelari andalan hari ini elo lagi lho!” ucap Ami—manajer klub pelari di sekolahku.

“Oh ya? Ehm, bener juga sih. Tadi pagi pas gue ngelawan anak-anak kelas A sama C, memang gue yang menang sih.” balasku. Aku kembali merapikan tas olahragaku.

“Giselle memang pelari andalan klub sih!” ucap Nada.

“Nanti pas akhir minggu lo sama anak-anak klub kita bakal retreat sama anak-anak dari sekolah Bina Bangsa.” Ami memperlihatkan agendanya.

“Eh, lo nggak salah? Anak-anak sekolah Bina Bangsa ‘kan, kebanyakan atlet lari!” pekikku kaget.

“Enggak apalah, kita ‘kan punya Giselle di kubu kita, nggak bakal kalah sama anak-anak Bina Bangsa!” Nada merangkul bahuku.

“Iya, kalian bakal tanding sama mereka.” Ami mengangguk.

“Wah, sudah jam segini! Gue pulang duluan ya!” ucapku saat melihat jam tangan yang sudah menunjukkan pukul 6 sore.

“Ya sudah, hati-hati di jalan ya Sel!!” ucap Ami dan Nada serempak.

Ada seorang anak yang bernama Aisyah. Suatu hari, Aisyah melihat pengumuman ‘Festival Balon Udara’ ketika sedang berjalan pulang dari sekolah. “Wah! Menarik nih!” gumam Aisyah. Dia merasa tertarik dengan pengumuman itu. Di rumah, Aisyah meminta izin pada ibu untuk mengikuti Festival itu, dan ibu mengizinkan Aisyah! Keeseokan harinya, Aisyah bangun dengan semangat. Dia bergegas mandi dan tak lupa shalat shubuh. Setelah shalat shubuh, Aisyah memakai baju yang sopan dan bersiap-siap. Aisyah kemudian pamit pada ibu dan berangkat menuju Festival Balon Udara. Sesampainya di lokasi Festival, Aisyah menyerahkan formulir biodatanya pada panitia. Aisyah melirik arlojinya, “Ah… sudah jam 11. Sebentar lagi balon udara akan terbang!” katanya senang. Pembawa acara yang memegang mikrofon menghitung. “1…..2…..3…MULAI!!!” Balon udara Aisyah terbang, begitu juga balon udara peserta yang lain. Aisyah merasa senang karena bisa mengikuti Festival Balon Udara…

Cerita:THE LOST

 

Joyfully,me and Sasha jogged around our lovely,big,beautiful block.We both ADORE this block,as it is always clean.

“Are you enjoying this Sasha?”I asked her.

“WOOF WOOF WOOF!”she barked,jumping as high as a 1 year old baby.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying it Sasha,”I smiled widely.Suddenly,when I was too busy thinking of all the miracle things that’s here in Planet Earth,I noticed that Sasha stopped and sniffed at something blue and tiny,near the berry bush.

“What’s that Sasha?”I peeked curiously to see what’s beside the berry bush.I saw what it was!It was a cool new APPLE WATCH!It is the MOST modern watch in 2019(I think).I was so surprised to see something so good LYING beside a berry bush.How can someone just LEAVE this Apple Watch here? I thought.Sneakily,I decided to pick up the watch and put it on my wrist.It fits PERFECTLY for me!I love this watch!I really do!

 

As I jogged to our house,I stared(once again!)at the modern blue watch.It is 09:00am now.Luckily I got home in time for fruit salad! I thought happily,I’m glad that I have this.I knocked on my door.Soon,Mother answered it.

“Hello Katryn dear!”she greeted,”Woah!You’re RIGHT on time for fruit salad!”

“Yeah Mother,”I smiled proudly,trying to not show my left hand,as I have the watch strapped around it.(I do not want Mother to know I have this.)I sat nicely on the wooden chair to eat fruit salad.

“Mmm…Thanks Mother!”I licked my lips appreciattively,as I tasted the salad.

“Your welcome Katryn,”replied Mother,while smiling.Then Mother noticed my left hand and saw it.She saw the watch.I hid it real quick so she can’t see it.Phew!Luckily she never saw it.It just looks like she saw the blue Apple Watch.Maybe Mother was staring at the window.

 

When I was done eating the delicious fruit salad,I went to my bedroom to do my homework.I have to hand my homework in on Monday(which is like,two days away).I sighed deeply and got my pencilcase out and did all of it.Before I did my homework,I timed myself using the Apple Watch.It actually only took me forty-five minutes to do all my work!Which is NOT that long.The Apple Watch became useful in Sunday too.It always makes me go home from jogging at the right time,and when I was going to Kids’s Gym,Mother and Father told me to go home at 14:00:00 pm.Since I had ‘MY’ Apple Watch,I got home at the right time.

“Wow Katryn!”Father exclaimed,”You’re home in the right time!How can you DO THAT?”

“Emm…It’s just because I’m smart Father,”I lied(I am smart,but not that smart).

“That’s good then!”Mother smiled,”What did you do at Kids’s Gym?”

“I did twenty girl push ups,lifting five kg dumbells and I did Zumba dancing with Ms.Hamilton,”I informed my parents.

“That’s our girl!”Father patted me in the back proudly.

 

ON MONDAY…

Today is schooltime.Yay!I’m SO excited!I’ll get to meet Bona,Olivia,Lili and Lina again!Woohoo!

“Bye Father!”I waved,”Good luck at work!”

“Bye Katryn!Have a nice day at school!”Dad waved too.Now he’s fading,because Mother is going faster on the motorbike now(Mother gets me to school).I checked the time on my watch.Right now,it’s 06:00:00 am.We still have about an hour to get to school.My school starts at 07:00:00am.Finally,me and Mother arrived at my school.I quickly waved bye to Mother and opened the green gates to the school.I was(ONCE AGAIN!)on time(wink wink).I lined up with everyone else.Right now,there were only four people in my line(well five,because I’m there).

“Hi Katryn,”Sulaiman greeted.

“Hi Man,”I replied cheerfully(people call him Man).

“That’s strange.You’re on time today,”

“Yeah Man.My mother helped me get ready on time,”I lied.

“That’s good then!”exclaimed Emelia(She’s now butting in).More people are now coming to our line.From the distance,I saw Bona,Lili,Lina and Olivia!Quietly and quickly,I shuffled to the back of the line.

“Oh hi Katryn!”Lili said,hugging me.

“Hi besties,”I smiled.Bona was gasping surprisingly.

“What is it Bona?”I asked her.

“WOAH!You have a BLUE APPLE WATCH?”Bona gasped.

“Shhhh!Keep that quiet!”I hissed,in case this watch belongs to someone in the school.

“Why?”

“None of your beeswax.Anyways,how were your weekends?”I said that to change the subject.

“Mine was AWESOME! I watched the new Toy Story movie at the cinema!”announced Bona.

“Mine was normal,”sighed Olivia,”All I did was do homework,”

“My weekend was good!”Lili exclaimed,”I visited my cousins Natalia and Alya,”

“That’s nice then!”I nodded.

“My weekend was OK.I went to Bona’s house a little bit,then I went strawberry picking,”Lina said.Lina informed us that she has some of the strawberries for snack!SWEET!

 

After we did our morning routine exercise,we FINALLY went inside our class.We sat down on our seats,and Mrs.Tina began the lesson.

AT BREAKTIME…

Today’s morning lesson was great!We did Science first thing.Now we have snack/breaktime.I had biscuits for today.Don’t forget,Lina gave me some strawberries!From my table(and Bona’s and Olivia’s and Lili’s and Lina’s,)I can hear Emelia talking with her friends(Rani and Hallie).

“You know what happened to me?”Emelia cried.

“No WHAT?”frowned Rani and Hallie.

“My Apple Watch disappeared when I was going to Uncle Will’s house!”now I started to worry.What if Emelia’s Apple Watch was THIS one I’m wearing? I thought.

“What does it look like?”asked Rani.

“It’s blue and the thingy in the middle’s round,”Emelia informed her friends.I was right.This watch was Emelia’s.What am I gonna do now?

“Oi Kat!”hissed Olivia,”That’s Emelia’s!”

“I know!Shut up for a minute,I’m gonna return it,”I grumbled,unbuckling the Apple Watch.Maybe this is for the best.

“Emelia?”I asked.

“Oh what is it Katryn?”smiled Emelia.

“It’s just that-I’m sorry,”

“Why?You’ve done nothing!”

“It’s just that I found your Apple Watch beside a berry bush.And…I thought that I should’ve kept it.But I was so wrong.Here,”I handed her the watch.

“Awww,thanks so much for returning it Katryn!”Emelia exclaimed,hugging me tight.

“It’s OK,”I replied,smiling proudly.

Pada suatu hari Ananda ingin ke kolam renang tapi dia tidak pandai berenang jadi dia meminta ibu nya  untuk mendaftar dia belajar berenang.Besok nya hari minggu pas sewaktu libur sekolah Ananda pergi ke kolam renang bersama ibu nya saat sewaktu dia belajar dia di letak kan di kolam yang dalam tapi untung lah ada guru nya. Sewaktu sudah pulang Ananda bertanya kepada ibu nya ” bu kenapa Ananda di letak kan di tempat yang dalam?”Ananda kan belum bisa renang” tanya Ananda sambil memegang botol nya ” Ananda sayang  kamu kan kalau di tempat yang pendek kamu jadi cecah ya itu namanya mana berenanag” kata ibu dengan lembut. Ananda belajar hari sabtu dan minggu saja karena  hari yang lain dia sekolah. Sebulan ke mudian Ananda sudah bisa berenang walau sikit-sikit. 3 tahun berlalu  ananda sudah  bisa semua gaya Ananda ikut olimpiade renang walau juara 2 Ananda tetap senang karena dia mendapat kan hadiah dan arloji dari ibu nya yang dari dulu ingin di belinya.

Cerita :

Zahra mengenang saat asmanya kambuh 1 bulan yang lalu. Waktu itu dia sedang lomba lari estafet saat jam pelajaran olahraga bersama pak Roni. Asmanya kambuh ketika 2 putaran terakhir, ketika dia sedikit lagi akan memberikan tongkat estafet kepada Lala. Sejak saat itu dia berjanji, tidak akan pernah berambisi untuk menjadi perwakilan kelompok anak perempuan dalam lomba lari maupun menjadi atlet lari. Tapi sekarang formulir itu ada ditangannya, formulir olimpiade lomba lari antar sekolah. Seluruh sekolah mengharapkannya. Karena memang Zahra adalah atlet lari sejak dulu kelas 1 dan Zahra tak pernah mengecewakan sekolah dan seluruh harapan mereka. Zahra bimbang memilih antara ya atau tidak. Zahra tak ingin asmanya kambuh, juga tak ingin mengecewakan sekolahnya. Zahra tak bisa fokus pada pelajarannya. Dia kemudian melirik Arlojinya, sudah waktunya pulang. Zahra kemudian pulang dengan penuh kebimbangan.

“Ma, Zahra pulang……!” Zahra memasuki rumahnya, melepas sepatu, meletakkan tas dan tanpa mengganti pakaiannya, Zahra langsung duduk disamping Mamanya yang sedang membaca novel. “Ma, tahu gak, hari ini bu Rahma membagikan surat perizinan mengikuti olimpiade lomba lari, kalau diizinkan formulirnya bisa diisi, tapi kalau tidak diizinkan formulirnya akan dikembalikan” kata Zahra lesu. “Wah…kalau gitu kamu ikut dong Zahra !” Mama menutup novel dan bersemangat memandang Zahra. “Tapi Ma, bulan lalu asma Zahra kambuh saat lomba lari ! nanti kalau kambuh lagi …..” Zahra menatap mamanya tak bersemangat. Mamanya membelai kepala Zahra tersenyum, “Mama akan memberitahu sesuatu, sekarang ganti baju, makan dan Sholat. Setelah itu baru kembali lagi kesini, oke ?” Mata Zahra membulat, “Mama ingin memberitahu apa?” Tanya Zahra penasaran. “Rahasia dong…” jawab Mama singkat. “Yah…Mama rusuh! Pakai rahasia segala… tapi oke deh ! Setelah makan, ganti baju dan sholat, Zahra akan kembali lagi ke sini menagih janji Mama!” Zahra yang sudah bersemangat kembali, bergegas menuju kamar untuk ganti baju, dalam hati dia bertanya-tanya apa yang akan diberitahu oleh Mamanya. Zahra semakin penasaran. Dia cepat-cepat melakukan semuanya. 15 menit kemudian dia sudah kembali ke tempat Mamanya, ruang tamu. Zahra sibuk menyikut-nyikut pinggang mamanya. “Ma….ma…., mana janji Mama?” tanya Zahra tidak sabaran. “Eh….Zahra! Kamu mebuat Mama kaget! Hmmm…janji apa ya? Kok Mama lupa?” Mama bertanya pura-pura tidak tahu. “Wih…Mama cepat sekali lupanya!” kata Zahra, dia merajuk. “Wah… Zahra merajuk ya ? Duh…kalau begitu, Mama gak akan kasih tahu janji Mama tadi!” sahut Mama pura-pura cuek. “Eh…Zahra gak merajuk kok…” Zahra tersenyum. “Kalau senyum gitu, Zahra kan semakin cantik dan Mama semangat jadinya!”. “Ah…..Mama bisa aja!” Zahra tersipu. “Oke, nah…Mama mau bercerita kepada Zahra, tahu gak, ada loh orang-orang yang berhasil dan sukses tapi mereka juga memiliki asma. Dan ternyata asma tak menghentikan mereka untuk melakukan sesuatu yang besar !” Mama mulai bercerita. “Wah…siapa tuh orangnya? Zahra penasaran!” seru Zahra bersemangat. “Zahra tau gak Amerika ?” “Tahu, Ma!” “Nah…salah satu presiden Amerika ini  menderita asma loh…” kata Mama. “Memangnya, presiden Amerika ini siapa namanya, Ma?” Tanya Zahra. “Namanya John F. Kennedy, Presiden ke 35 Amerika. Selain presiden, ada juga seorang atlet renang bernama Amy Van Dyken, atlet renang olimpiade untuk USA yang berhasil memenangkan 6 medali emas. Dia menderita asma dan ketika kecil dokter memberi tahunya agar memulai latihan renang untuk membuat paru-parunya semakin kuat. Selain mereka, ada juga seorang atlet bernama Jerome Bettis, Saat itu dia berumur 14 tahun ketika dokter memberi tahu bahwa dia memiliki penyakit asma. Namun karena rajin berlatih, menjaga kesehatannya, makan makanan yang sehat dan rajin berolah raga, asma tak menghentikannya menjadi seorang juara bola bowling”. Mama mengakhiri ceritanya. “Terus kenapa bulan lalu asma Zahra kambuh ? Padahal selama ini gak pernah kambuh?” tanya Zahra. Mama tersenyum menatap Zahra, “dulu itu Zahra sangat telaten dalam menghadapi asma Zahra, selalu memberi inhaler, sering makan sayur, istirahat teratur, Zahra juga selalu mengingatkan mama kapan waktu check up kesehatan ke dokter, Zahra juga rajin berenang agar paru-parunya kuat. Tapi kemudian karena asma Zahra jarang kambuh bahkan hampir tidak pernah kambuh, Zahra jadi lalai dan abai terhadap kesehatan Zahra. Karena itu asma Zahra kambuh lagi bulan lalu. “Iya Ma, Zahra sekarang sering lupa dan abai terhadap semua pengobatan. Hmmm…oke mulai sekarang Zahra akan rajin menjaga kesehatan Zahra!” Zahra bertekad. Melihat tekad Zahra yang kuat, Mama pun berkata padanya bahwa mereka akan menjalankan misi 2 bulan sebelum olimpiade dimulai.

Misi Zahra dan mama berjalan lancar. Sekarang dia sudah siap menghadapi olimpiade lari. Anak-anak ramai membicarakan soal olimpiade itu. Mereka sibuk mengatakan pada Zahra bahwa dia akan menjadi sang juara, Zahra hanya bisa tersenyum menghadapi semua ini.

Saat itu pelajaran Matematika sedang berlangsung, kelas sekarang menjadi super hening, karena murid-murid ditenggelamkan oleh angka-angka dan rumus-rumus rumit yang membuat kepala terasa mau pecah. Tiba-tiba keheningan itu dikagetkan oleh suara bell pengumuman sekolah. Tidak, ini bukan waktu istirahat. Ah…..hari ini hari perlombaan. Setelah bell selesai memberi informasi, Zahra bergegas menuruni tangga dengan cepat, menyalami guru-guru meminta do’a dan bergegas menaiki mobil menuju lokasi perlombaan.

Rasanya baru sebentar Zahra didalam mobil dan sudah sampai dilokasi. Hmmm…. Mungkin akibat terlalu tegang ya? Bisa jadi. Setengah jam kemudian Zahra sudah berada di garis start bersama peserta lainnya. Olimpiade lari akan segera dimulai. Zahra menatap sekeliling, ada seorang anak perempuan dengan tinggi diatas rata-rata anak lainnya dan sepertinya dia akan jadi juara, kalau dilihat dari postur tubuhnya. Perasaan tegang, semangat dan deg-deg-an bercampur menjadi satu. Hingga akhirnya ketegangan itu bertambah saat aba-aba pertandingan akan segera dimulai. “Para peserta harap bersiap-siap di garis start. Berbaris sesuai nomor urutnya dan pada hitungan ketiga lomba akan dimulai” panitia mulai memberikan aba-aba. “1……bersedia…..Jantung Zahra berdegup kencang, 2………..siaaaaaap………..degup jantungnya semakin kencang, dan……3………priiiiiiit……….Zahra tak bisa berpikir apa-apa kecuali langsung sprint. Berlari kencang mendahului peserta lainnya. Zahra begitu bersemangat berlari! Berlari……terus berlari, walaupun kakinya mulai terasa pegal, dia terus memaksa kakinya agar tetap berlari. Sudah hampir setengah lintasan Zahra mulai merasa kelelahan, tubuhnya mulai oleng dan terasa hendak jatuh tetapi dia masih saja terus berlari. Garis finish sudah didepan mata, dadanya sesak, nafasnya seakan berhenti…..oh, tidak ! Zahra takut asmanya kambuh lagi. Zahra menenangkan dan menguatkan hati sambil memaksa kaki untuk terus berlari. Sedikit lagi Zahra hampir tiba di garis finish, masih terus berlari…….Zahra sudah tak tahan lagi, dan Zahra jatuh tersungkur, seluruh badannya lemas dengan nafas yang tersengal-sengal, Zahra merasa gagal melakukannya. Sementara itu penonton bersorak-sorak, Zahra tak tahu mereka bersorak untuk siapa. Zahra mencoba bangkit dan betapa kagetnya dia ketika mengetahui bahwa dia jatuh tepat di garis finish dan paling awal sampai dari peserta-peserta yang lain. ZAHRA BERHASIL ! Dan asmanya tidak kambuh pada hari itu. Rasa bahagia, lelah dan terkejut mewarnai hati Zahra. Beberapa panitia menyambutnya di garis finish.

Tak lama kemudian setelah beristirahat sejenak untuk memulihkan kondisi tubuhnya, piala sudah berada di tangannya. Piala juara 1 ! Zahra melihat guru-gurunya menangis terharu dan bangga. Dia juga melihat mamanya yang memandang dengan senyum dan bangga. Zahra mengangkat tinggi-tinggi pialanya dibawah gemuruh sorakan penonton. Zahra berhasil membuktikan bahwa asma tak akan menghentikannya menjadi sang juara. Sama seperti orang-orang sukses yang diceritakan Mamanya. Kekurangan bukan menjadi penghambat bagi seseorang untuk sukses, asalkan tahu cara mengatasinya. Zahra mulai paham akan hal itu.

Dan mengenai misi yang mereka jalani, hanya Mama dan Zahra yang tahu.
